Our founder moved to three countries and learned three languages as an adult: slowly, often alone, always wishing he had started as a child.
Along the way he tried many methods, including Greg Thomson’s Growing Participator Approach. Later he trained as a Montessori educator and opened a Montessori preschool, where for seven years he has worked with, observed and learned from children aged two and a half to six.
When his son was born, he wanted something different for him: to grow up at home in all three languages. But he isn’t a native speaker of all of them, and most apps are made for children alone, with cartoons, points and a screen to stare at.
So he built what his family needed: a parent and a child on the same couch, learning the same words, with real native voices to get them right.

1A short illustrated story read by a native speaker. Tap any word to hear it again.
2“Here is the cup.” “Show me the cup.” Your child points before speaking, just like in a Montessori classroom.
3When your child is ready, they name it. Record their voice and compare it with the native speaker.
4A few everyday phrases and a small task away from the screen, so the language moves into real life.
Verbo Family was designed by a Montessori educator and is inspired by three respected approaches, woven into one gentle routine.

Understanding comes before speaking. Listening and pointing count as progress; no child is pushed to talk before they are ready.

Language grows through shared, meaningful moments with people who speak it: here, with you, at home, every day.
Each lesson is repeated over two or three days, and every session opens with a warm-up of earlier words.
Verbo Family is inspired by these approaches. It is not affiliated with or certified by any of them.
